The Self Help Scam
I wanted to talk about self help today since I’m sure a lot of my readers are involved in that, just as I was. We all want to improve our lives, so we can live better. I think that is great and everyone should do that. I think it is immoral to live any less than your potential. My problem is the self help scam.
The reason I use the term scam is because it’s all the same crap rebranded and sold to you. "The Secret" is just "The Strangest Secret" by Earl Nightingale, just rebranded. It’s all just the same old crap. Positive thoughts lead to positive outcomes. I have grown to hate self help for one specific reason; it doesn’t help. It really doesn’t. I would finish off one book, than move onto another. Reading these books makes you feel like you’re actually accomplishing something. You’re finally taking the first steps to fix yourself. The fact is that you’re taking the first steps in wasting your time. The No Bullshit Approach to Improve Your Life Here is what I’ve learned that will give you results. If I was to put it as simple as I can it would be, get off your ass and do what needs to be done now. That’s the whole secret to improving your life; work, pain and suffering. Get off your ass and do it. That’s as simple as it gets. You can do all the NLP, self meditating, positive thinking you want, but it’s not going to give you results until you get off your ass and do what needs to be done.
