The Monetizing of this Site
I’m sure some have you been thinking “why isn’t this site monetized?” Obviously, my site looks a lot different than other internet marketing sites because there are no ads in the sidebar and there are no reviews of products being listed.
The reason there hasn’t been an attempt at this is due to the fact that I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. When I first created this site, I had one idea in mind; projects. I just wanted to give weekly projects for my readers that can help them out. That’s something I don’t see much of at all now. Over the next couple weeks you’re going to notice that there will be ads. I’m not going to crowd the site with them though. Here are some rules I’ve set down: 1. Providing Great Content My obviously best form of monetization is providing great content to my readers. I know if I make you guys happy and provide information that you think is great, you’re more likely to reciprocate in someway. If that means I make an IM product, you may buy and sell it. If I make a health product, you might want to promote it. This is obviously the best form of monetization I can do, so I’ll continue to provide good content that I think rocks. 2. I Must Use All Services I Recommend I think this is an important rule. I’m not going to tell you to use anything if I don’t use it myself. That doesn’t matter if it is a free service or paid. I will be using it before I’ll ever tell you that you should be using it. 3. I Have To Purchase It Myself A lot of people give out review copies to webmasters and I won’t accept any of them. I don’t have the time for it really. If I do recommend something, it will be something that I personally bought because I felt I needed it. I’ll let you know what I think of it, good or bad. — I think it is also important to note that I’m not much of a consumer. I don’t buy a lot of stuff to begin with and rarely do I buy affiliate marketing stuff. It’s not like I’m going to plaster this site daily with reviews. You might see them now and then. To be honest, I’ve only purchased one eBook in my life and it sucked. Well, I thought I’d keep you updated on what I’m doing. I will be monetizing, but it won’t be much different than what we have now. August 30 2008
