Shut Up About Google Analytics
It is beyond me why anyone would ever use Google Analytics or any other retarded "Webmaster" tools provided by Google. Another pile of shitty java script to slam at the bottom of every page collecting information.
Google - The Information Giant I have a love-hate relationship with Google. They're a stellar business and they're not afraid to revolutionize things, but on the other hand they just collect information, information, and more informations. Searches, habits, what you are buying, what sites your on, how long you're on them, what you're clicking on, etc etc etc. Why in the world would you ever give this information to Google for free? Other businesses offer air miles and such to get this information, but Google is offering a Java Script app for your site and some graphs. Google Isn't Your Friend I haven't been afraid to say that Google isn't your friend. There interest is most likely the opposite of your interest. Teaching you and helping you to rank, is like suicide for them as a business. They're not your friend. All their webmaster tools and Google analytics are going to be used against you. I don't want Google to know shit about the traffic I get, where it comes from, how my sales letters work, the buzz words that get people to click, nor do I want Google to know what clicks lead to sales. This all comes off quite disturbingly to me. We have toolbars and Google analytics on pages monitoring every single thing you do and click on. Google knows what people are reading on and what is being ignored. They know what links are valuably clicked, and which ones are not. There's a lot of information out there and Google is collecting it all. Granted, they probably aren't at the point of using it, but you can be sure that they eventually will. As a webmaster that has the pure intention of making money online, this doesn't sit well with me. Google has no interest in helping us. People that use Google want the best quality results, not pages that are fluff and sales letter. Google Analytics is Big Brother Big Brother is watching as was said in George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. I'm proud to say I don't use Google analytics and it isn't on any of the pages that I use. This idea of having a java script counter is comical to me. Be a man and use AWSTATS, which you should have with any Cpanel hosting. It gives enough information and if you're dying for some more than you're just mentally masturbating. November 19 2008
