Recurring Sales Commissions
Well, recurring commissions aren’t a thing I really went after when I first started out. I guess I can blame that on being an adult webmaster back in the day. It was done a little different. Basically, you got to do recurring 65% commission each month for the lifetime of the member or getting a nice 100% for the first month, regardless if they don’t renew.
When it comes to mainstream and the products on Clickbank, you don’t really have that issue. Typically people are selling an infoproduct and they have that recurring upsale for a membership. Things like weight loss and stuff like that have such a system. Like I said before, I didn’t do much in the way of recurring. In fact, I have only one product that has a recurring membership and I didn’t even know until I received a commission the next month. You should definitely get some recurring sales because if the site is providing a quality service, people will continuously stay subscribed. This means a free commission every month, per user. But the question now is how do you know if they offer a good membership? I’ll show you how.
I’m looking in the Clickbank market place for all the recurring products under health. I picked 2 items listed there to illustrate the point. The first is the conversational hypnosis. The $/sale is the immediate commission amount. Future is what you get for a recurring client. The way to figure out if it is good is by the Total/Sale. That’s the average of original pay and recurring. You’ll notice it’s very high for this product, so it’s probably good. If you look at the fitness ebooks, you’ll notice that the Total/Sale is almost identical for $/sale, which means that people rarely go for any sort of recurring pay. I don’t think the fitness ebook is exactly a recurring thing, but an upsell thing. It doesn’t matter, because the stats show that it sucks ass at upselling. The point is if you’re going after a recurring product, you’d like it to pay you down the road, so make sure it’s decent. August 11 2008
