PR Updated Who Cares
Well, I couldn’t help notice that the Google Toolbar shows a change in PR for some of my sites. A domain I purchased three months ago moved up to PR1. I noticed some sales pages in the subdirectory are up to PR2. I couldn’t help but think about all the PR masturbation that would be occurring at digitalpoint.
What does it do? I don’t think it does much. Has my Google traffic increased? Nada. So I’m getting no love, so who cares. There is only one advantage I seen to PR and it’s only a short term advantage. Google spiders the hell out of your site and indexes your pages faster. Who knows? They might not even be caused by causality since it takes a long time to get a high PR. People are selling you I’ve noticed this consistent behavior, the people that are telling you how important PR is are the ones selling it or sheep that have already been sold it. I’ve discussed this many times on forums and if you press hard enough, these people will tell you that PR is of value because you can sell it to people. It’s just people selling you magic pills, that don’t do anything. Common Sense - Think About It!! Like I said before, the thing that pisses me off the most about webmaster forums is groupthink. People are so brain dead that they can’t think for themselves. We definitely need to see a come back for common sense. Just think about it; it isn’t in Google’s best interest to share information with you about their algorithm or how things work. Even if they share it with all the “good webmasters” out there, the spammers pick it up and destroy the search engine. Google is in a constant battle to show the best results and stomp the spammers. Google has no interest in sharing anything with you because spammers will also get that information too. —— This will be my last post on PR because it really is a waste of time. July 27 2008
