Newbie Project: Preparing For The Fall Part 2
Alright, this is the second part on preparing for the fall. If you missed the first part you can view it here.
At this point you should have some keywords to play with for the fall. I wasn’t sure last week what we could try, but I have a good idea. We’re going to use these as bleeders. That is another term that comes from the adult webmaster world and it really means filtering traffic off a clean page. If you have a blog, you can put up links to these pages around the holiday and people will be more inclined to click it. Halloween Halloween is an extremely diverse holiday, since you can really apply anything to it. I gave some examples last week. Do you want to be the chubby witch or the sexy playboy bunny? That would be good for weight loss. Basically, there are an infinite amount of ideas you could pick for any niche. It’s just a matter of using your imagination and really getting on people’s emotional sides. I know people are in other niches like make money or off grid power, but you can really apply anything to it. Just use your imagination. Thanksgiving Seems like the health niches are easier to apply to these. Work off those turkey legs. Things like that work. As well, a lot of people go shopping at this time, so you should be able to capture some search terms related to Thanksgiving and shopping. Christmas If you can’t find something to sell at this time, than there’s something wrong. Here’s an idea; the last minute shopper. Products you can download immediately, even if it is Christmas Eve. – The plan for these ideas is to make a themed sales/landing page. It’s your choice how far you want to go with it. You can make spooky graphics. Put some jack-o-lanterns on the page. You just want to make it a themed page. When you’re bleeding traffic, you have to have a kick ass hook. This is the phrase you’ll link with that will make people click. “Halloween Weight Loss” isn’t going to really do anything. It just doesn’t make sense. But if you use something like “Are you going to be Fat Albert or the He-man at the Halloween party?” It signifies to people, do you want to be some fat ass at a party or the muscled hunk. That’s all you need to do. Make a few sales pages for each holiday. Try them out for bleeding and see which ones are more popular. Advanced Fun I had a past newbie project on filters. One of my examples was the poll. This could be another way to bleed traffic and filter it at the same time. You’d bleed off the traffic by asking the question; What are you going to be this Halloween? or What are you buying for Christmas? This way the traffic will filter to what they want and you can advertise to meet that. So if they select “Sexy Playboy Bunny”, you might want to mention that they may want to get rid of that cellulite or chunky love handles. August 29 2008
