Newbie Project: Long Term Recycling Advanced
This is a continuation of last weeks newbie project on long term recycling. This is a very good long term project. You have to do that project before you can do this advanced addon.
At this point you should have something that looks like this…
I apologize for the crude drawing. As you can tell, I don’t put much time into this graphic design stuff. I’ll explain what it all means. In the middle, you have your hub. The “A”’s are your articles. Different colors for different niches. The black lines signify the hub linking to the article. The pink line signifies the article linking to the hub. Doesn’t seem so complicated now. I’m going to draw a picture of what you want now…
Holy shit, that was a lot harder than I thought it would be. No arrows this time, but you know what pink lines mean and black lines mean. The only thing different is you have these teal (light blue) boxes and an HFPA box. The HFPA stands for Hub Full Page Ad. Obviously, what you want to do for this page is showcase a product for each niche you do. You want to put it in a table format which is three rows and two columns. The left column you put in a product image(link to affiliate site). The right column give a description and a link at the end of it. I want you to do this for each niche you choose for the project. If you did three, you’ll have three rows of this. Give a title at the top of the page like "Choose your destination" or something like that. Under the table put "No Thanks" and link to the hub. It’s a great way to filter traffic through some more ads before they can make it to content. Now to the teal (light blue) boxes. I didn’t write in text for them, but they’re supposed to be full page ads. Instead of linking directly to the article, send them through an ad page with the "No thanks, take me to the article" link at the bottom. This one is a little different. You won’t be making a table or anything. Just make a good sales page for a product, most related, to the article topic. Make sure it’s short and to the point, with no scrolling. I understand that is like 10 new pages. Ideally, I would say make 10 unique new pages, but if you’re lazy, you can make 4. That would be your HFPA and one unique FPA for each niche. You can run the same FPA for each article in a niche. Don’t worry, you don’t have to change any of the structuring of everything. You should leave all the pages in the same place for the SE’s. Just make a file in the directory called hfpa.html for the HFPA. Have your articles link to that instead, and your HFPA will link to your hubs index.html file. The same should apply for the regular FPAs. Just make fpa1.html, fpa2.html, etc. Or you can give them names if you want. quit-smoking.html, nicotine-patches.html, etc. I hope this isn’t confusing anyone. It’s crystal clear in my head, but the idea is to put an ad in between all the content, so the surfer is always getting advertised too. If you make the full page ads properly, you should be able to link to them in article submissions and basically, you got this monster filtering empire that will make you money. This is the filtering traps we built all the time as adult webmasters. It’ll work, in the long run, so put the effort into it. August 15 2008
