Live Case Study

I decided that instead of doing Newbie Projects for a while, that we could try something different. I'm going to do some actual live case studies for new domains. Unfortunately due to the fact that there are some bad apples out there, I won't be giving out the domain names for you to view. Sorry, but I see absolutely no benefit on my part for giving them out.

I picked up a few domain names lately. Actually two last night. I had to pick up at least one when I found a GoDaddy coupon, so I could get one domain name for $1.99. That's pocket change. How could I resist? If you want it... 199TEST.

Anyway, that brings my total domain count up to 14 domains. That's three domain names for leisure (non-profit) use. That's ten domains for profit (some just have adsense on them). And that leaves one domain name left which was going to be used with a business (an offline business) that I created, but did absolutely nothing with. Yes, I actually have it legally registered as a business with the government, but haven't done a thing with it.

You've probably seen me posting site statistics for basically two sites. And that's right. I have two main sites, but as you can see, I listed ten profitable sites, so I'll begin to explain.

amxpert.com - Nothing spectacular

New Niche Test - Before I was smart enough, I bought a domain name to see if there was a market for it. I know better now (there wasn't a market).

Sleep niche site - Remember the 48 Hr Product Challenge? Well, I made a sleep related product and picked up a domain name. I actually didn't get around to setting it all up and since things went sour with Clickbank, I set it up independently through paypal.

My Clickbank Product - Says it all.

Atheist Site - This is one of my adsense sites because how the hell do you monetize an atheist site. As you can tell, this was a domain name I bought before I actually learned how to profit.

So that's 5 domain names listed there, and the 2 I've always been talking about - so that leaves the remaining three.

Case Study Domain A: Dating Site which was registered on the weekend.

Case Study Domain B: Very unique niche I found on paydotcom. This site will actually be my first site oriented around one product. I'm sure there are other products out there, but this is very unique. I was instantly hooked the first time I saw it and I had to promote it.

Case Study Domain C: Remember last weeks NPOW on Christmas Subniches. Well, I bought a domain name for this particular niche. I thought it would be fun for an experiment. This happens to be the $1.99 domain name and it is a dot com.

Case Study Domain D: I talked about my sleep niche site, well I haven't done much with it. It has some articles linking back to it, but that's really it. It hasn't be hard promoted and I didn't make any sales. So what I'm doing is taking the ebook I wrote and turning it into content for the site.

Case Study Domain E: Also from above, the "new niche test" one will be developed even though there are no affiliate products for it. I'm going to do it for the sake that it is something that is growing in popularity and I do see it becoming a profitable niche in a year or two, so why not develop it - instead of letting it sit around?

This is my case study. 5 Domains may seem a little busy, but I hope to create a way of reporting things and make it a little easier to follow.

I'd like to point out that Site A and E will be Wordpress blogs.

Site B, C, and D will be HTML pages.

Site B will be a landing page and I'll fill the subdirectories up with articles.

Site C is going to be oriented like the newbie project.

Site D is going to be old school from the old days when I did adult sites.

What does the case study look at?

I guess this is the million dollar question. Well, it is going to look at the SEO performance of the sites. I'm going to share with you exactly what I do and we'll see what happens.

I'm going to make a certain page for this on the site that you can just bookmark and come back too (it isn't this url). It's going to document how many "indexable" pages I've created, to how many back links I've personally got.

I know this post is a little sloppy, but it's a case study lol.
