How to Make a Powerful Stumbleupon Account
I've been tinker with this a bit and I think I picked up a pretty good method for creating a powerful Stumbleupon account. My accounts don't have any friends or anything either. My idea of 'powerful' is one that will generate a lot of traffic.
Here's the deal though, giving your sales pages and obvious material that is designed to sell a thumbs up is a big fucking joke. Don't waste your time. Once people thumb down your shit, your account becomes a useless pile of shit. What to Stumble You have to be creative and in a viral frame of thought. I'm a person that uses Stumbleupon as it is intended to be used. When I hit the stumble button on my browser, I expect to see good shit that I'm interested in. Anything that is obvious advertising will be thumbed down. We're in a business to make money, so you really need to be creative with this. How can you make something that makes you money, but also impress people on Stumbleupon and go viral. That might mean being funny. Maybe a satire or extremely informative. I'll leave this part up to you. The Key is Time Time is the hardest and easiest aspect of this, but that is what is required. Coming up with a system is important to making this work, so I'm come up with something. Step 1: Sign Up Get your username, password and stick it into a spreadsheet. Step 2: Use It For the next week you're going to use it for a week as a regular user. You're going to configure it with your favorite topics and start stumbling. Thumb up what you like, thumb down what you hate and leave some reviews if you feel like. Obviously, you want to leave more thumbs up than downs. You want to be voting with everyone else, but don't be a douche. Honestly use it correctly. Step 3: Sign Out Sign out of your account, and go back to Step 1. I know you were expecting more, but this is how it works. The power to your stumbleupon account comes from time, so you just want to build a list of accounts and after a few months they'll be powerful. That's what I did, for the most part. After using it for a week, I just signed up and left them for a few months. You may want to sign back in every now and than to do a little stumbling, but that's it. In a few months, you're going to have a spreadsheet worth of these accounts. You're not going to get good at creating the proper pages for stumbleupon accounts. You're literally going to burn your first few accounts. It takes time to figure it out and get this going good. A lot of what makes stumbleupon accounts uber powerful is submitting things and people loving it. The worst thing that can happen is submitting something and it's hated. You're basically instant smacked as shit. You will figure this out and when you submit nice things, you'll be moving more and more traffic. So Good Luck. January 30 2009
