Have You Actually Read A Sales Letter?
I want to know; have you ever sat down and read an entire sales letter? Well, I haven’t until last night. I actually sat down and read the entire thing. Usually, I’ll just skim through it and see what catches my attention. I think that is what a lot of people do.
I do think there is a lot of benefit of reading these sales letters… 1. You Learn Copywriting At this point and time, you may not be that interested in learning copywriting. You may be content with just writing casual reviews and things like that. But eventually you’re going to want to make your own product and at least having a good idea what these pages hold and the points they try to make will give you a head start. It’s sort of hard to write your own sales letter when you haven’t sat down and actually read through some that are already out there. You have to learn it because it works. 2. Revealing Information About The Product A lot of times an eBook will contain a great step by step method, but the thing that is of real value is the philosophical point of the book. And when you learn this philosophy, you don’t really need the steps because you can pretty much put it all together. Last night as I was reading through the sales letter it exposed a very important point. You know, those “a-ha!” moments where you suddenly have some clarity. That’s what I got. I got this philosophy without actually buying the product because it was presented in the sales letter. 3. What Are Those Hot Buttons? The key to selling in any niche is learning what those words are that push people’s buttons and gets them to buy. Every market has them and you have to learn what they are. Reading through the sales letters of products you plan to market or of a market you want to go into, can really give you some insight into pushing buttons. September 15 2008
