Getting Started With Clickbank Part 2

Step 4: Now you’re going to do a review or a sales page of the product you selected. If you have your own domain name and hosting, you should probably do a sales page and if you’re using the free websites you’ll do a review.

If you don’t have any experience writing HTML code, than you should install a platform to write on like WordPress. If you’re using the free option, you don’t have to worry about this. I unfortunately won’t go into detail on how to actually code a sales page.

If you want to see what a sales page looks like, take that link you saved before and put it in your browser. You’re going to go to a sales page. It’s a big long page with a lot of information. You want to make something similar to that, except you don’t have to do it that long.

You want to have a big bold statement at the top of the page and you want to emphasize the same points that your products sales page does. You don’t want to copy it. What you want to do is make a condensed version of it that is in your own words. Try to add a picture of the product if it is available.

You’re going to take that link you saved and you’re going to link it on your page, so all traffic will goto the affiliate product, through your link.

A review is a little different. It requires you to write an “honest review” of the product. You write this in the way of a friend recommending a product. It’s sort of next to impossible to know how to review a product that you haven’t used. There are two solutions for this. The first would be to get your own copy. If you email a vendor, tell them that you want to sell their product and could do a better job if you had a copy of it. The second way is to write it on your own is by focusing on the points in the sales letter and just writing a review that way. Put your affiliate link at the bottom and on some action words throughout the review.

As hard as this sounds, you only have to do it once.

Step 5: It is time to market. You got your sales page/review page up and running. Now you want to send some nice targeted traffic too it to get some people to buy.

There is a number of ways of accomplishing this goal, but I’ll stick to the most affective.

Article Marketing:
This has been the best tool for me. It’s not an instant gratification of traffic, even though some articles can, but it’s long lasting targeted traffic. The whole idea is that you write an article on the particular niche subject you’ve chosen. If you choose to sell a weight loss product, you’d write articles about weight loss. The whole idea is that you focus on getting readers that would use your product.

At the end of the article you get a resource box that is supposed to be about the author. You don’t have to say a thing about yourself or even use your real name. What you want to do is write something catchy and supply the link back your sales or review page. It can be as simple as "Learn more about weight loss at *your website*". That’s not the most affective, but it works. You can play with it to see what makes you get more clicks than others.

There are a lot of article directories out there, but you can just stick with a few:

Ezine Articles
Idea Marketers
ArticlesBase

Those are just three, but there is probably a few thousand out there, but those three probably supply the most short term traffic.

You’re going to have to know how to write an article. Well it is pretty typical. Introduction, body and conclusion. Depending on the article directory you have to supply so many words; typically 250-400. If you’re looking for examples, just browse through the article site in the area of your niche and see how people are writing. Keyword research really goes a long way when writing articles, but I’ll go into that in a separate post.

Google Adwords:
This is what Timothy recommends in the Four-Hour Workweek for your muse. I’ve never used Adwords and I really can’t help you with this. I think it’s better to learn how to sell before you attempt to pay for traffic.

SEO:
This is the process of making a page that is loved by the search engines (SE). SE traffic is extremely targeted and sells well. The problem is that this is a long term strategy that takes a lot of time to get to a profitable point. The good thing is that you can use it in conjunction with other strategies and even article marketing can help with your long term SEO.

Other:
There are a lot of methods out there, but probably not as affective. Social bookmarking is popular, but I don’t see any added benefit from the traffic. There is also directories you can submit too, but I’m not really sure how affective they are anymore.

———-
I started with article marketing and still do it because I find it is the most affective method for driving targeted traffic. Whatever you choose try to repeat it everyday. If you’re writing articles, try to write a few in your niche each day and submit them.

This two part guide is a pretty simple way of making money with Clickbank. It is over simplified, just because there are a million different things I can go into, but this is the nuts and bolts of what is done. Obviously there are ways to write better sale/review pages and make more affective articles, but that is something you’ll pick up with time.
